Soft Mohair Sweaters
Nothing keeps you warm and softly wrapped up like a thick mohair sweater. It’s the perfect thing to wear for feeling cosy and my main weapon against the cold. Mohair sweaters look great and feel great to wear and they have the lovely effect of making you feel relaxed and protected - ideal for an evening indoors in front of a great movie.
My boyfriend also loves it when I wear one of my mohair sweaters. I bet it’s common for most men to like women wearing mohair sweaters. He’s certainly more inclined to want to cuddle up when I wear mine around the house.
I even remember the times when seeing someone in a mohair sweater usually meant they knitted it themselves. Well today, thanks to the pleasure temple of internet shopping, you can find quite a nice variety of mohair sweaters by browsing through online shops. Some will also hand knit them to your liking. But you should know, as luxurious as mohair sweaters look and feel, their prices are similarly ‘luxurious’. Ok, don’t let that put you off. You can still buy a really nice mohair sweater for the price of a nice pair of jeans. But they do tend to be priced higher than wool or cotton sweaters.
No, mohair sweaters do not make you look fat
Some people are reluctant to wear a mohair sweater because they’re worried about it distorting their figure. Well, obviously they conceal the shape of your torso but that isn’t the same as making you look big. You can match a thick sweater very well with slim fit jeans and, if you can keep your behind in check, then nobody will doubt the rest of you. But even without that, people can see when it’s just the clothes that make you look big unless you’re covered from head to toe. Either way, it’s always better to not worry about what others think of your shape. Yes, I know that’s easier said than done. But generally that attitude is more fun and the kind of confidence it radiates is attractive in both men and women.
Mohair sweaters are stylish and feminine
Depending on whether you want to go for the more homely look or the luxurious look, a mohair sweater can look more feminine than any other top. It depends really on whether you want it to be more about keeping you warm and comfortable or whether you prefer style.
Cowl neck sweaters, for example, can reveal quite a lot of skin which can create a stunning look. Some of them can even be worn off the shoulder. And I haven’t even mentioned the many low cut, jacket style or short sleeve options you can have. If you want you can even go for tight fitting mohair tops but with them it’s harder to not look a little bulky.
Mohair Sweaters on Men
You didn’t think I was gonna forget about you now, huh? Mens sweaters typically look pretty dull, scratchy and uncomfortable. But you can buy mohair sweaters for men too. They’re just a little harder to find. I don’t see why men shouldn’t try wearing some really soft sweaters too. If you’re worried about them looking feminine then you can go for something like a turtleneck and other more functional styles as I mentioned above.
My regular readers will have guessed by now, that my boyfriend will probably have tried on mine once or twice and you guessed right. I must say I have slightly mixed feelings about it. On the one hand I prefer him wearing things that reveal his physique but on the other hand, I like the softness and innocence that it radiates. Well it's nice to have a choice.
